Authors' Review

Authors' Review

  • Are the rules and terms of submission easy to find?
They're probably not clear enough. I ask that anyone who has a story that wants to be archived, or knows a story that they feel ought to be included email me and it's done on a case by case basis so far.
  • Do you supply a beta reader for authors?
    No.
  • Are you polite about rejecting fics?
Well, I've never rejected any fics, but I always try to be polite so I would certainly attempt to be so if I should end up rejecting something.
  • Do you remove author's notes or copyright notices without asking the author first?
I never remove any notes or copyright notices. I use a standard disclaimer I get from FA, but if the author already has a disclaimer I do not remove it, simply add the additional disclaimer to it.
  • Do you ever archive fics without permission?
    Never.
  • Are you prompt about removing fics at an author's request?
I've never had an author request something removed, but I would certainly do so at once if someone wanted their work taken down.
  • What is your plagiarism policy...do you investigate or do you take a complainant at their word?
Again, as a small archive I've never had a problem with this but I would at least try to investigate any complaints, although since I'm just once person my resources are limited.
  • Do you update at least once a month?
I try. I can only update when there are new stories to be posted, but since I'm also one of the authors there's usually something new to go up every few weeks. However sometimes my RL schedule gets in the way.
  • Do you make it possible for readers to leave feedback?
The author's email is posted at the beginning of each story. So far that's the only way to leave feedback, but I'm looking into other things.
  • Is your location stable, or do you move frequently?
The location is absolutly stable for at least another year and a half. After that the girl who hosts it is graduating and we'll have to move.

Reader review

  • Is the site attractive?
No. It's dark blue text on a pebbled gold background. It would be easier to read if the background was a solid, pale color. The fics themselves are pale green text on black background, which isn't easy on the eyes. My favorite way to read is generally a dark text on a pale background.
  • Is the site easy to navigate? (can you get to all the main sections from every page, or do they rely on the 'back' button an awful lot?)
The front page clearly lists the other pages. The front page also lists recent updates. There is a link to the front page at the bottom of every page.
  • How selective is the archive? (Are you likely to find a good story?)
She's archived the good fics. ^_^ I checked them out, and am happy with what I read. So yes, she must be selective.
  • Are they a specialty (ship or genre centric) or general (only ratings restrictions) archive?
Specialty. The only pairing archived there is Seamus/Dean.
  • Is it easy to navigate within multi-chaptered stories?
Yes, at the bottom of the chapter you're reading there is a link to the page that lists the other chapters. :)
  • Are there search engines? Are they easy to use?
There are no search engines. The site is small and doesn't need them.
  • Are the indexes (author, title listings) clearly laid out?
    Yes.
  • Are stories appropriately labelled if they require warnings?
Well, one of the summaries says slut!Seamus and the ratings are always listed. I don't know if that qualifies.
Honestly I didn't see anything that warranted a red flashing warning. (:
  • How many pages do you have to search through to get to the first story?
Two. The front page and the page the fic is linked on.
  • Is it easy to leave feedback?
Yes, the author's email address is linked at the top of the fic.
