Authors' Review

Authors' Review

  • Are the rules and terms of submission easy to find?
Yes, there is a submit button on every page.
  • Do you supply a beta reader for authors?
No. I will read through and edit grammar and spelling if asked, but I don't have time to do a full beta.
  • Are you polite about rejecting fics?
I don't always get around to emailing people to let them know because I don't have the time, I just don't archive it. But with the ones I do I'm always polite. I also give the option of resubmission if the story doesn't meet certain guidelines.
  • Do you remove author's notes or copyright notices without asking the author first?
No, unless the note no longer applies, or there is a long list of names in the thanks section. In that case I edit it to say 'thanks to reviewers' or something similar and remove the names.
  • Do you ever archive fics without permission?
No. I ask for permission or receive submissions. Once I have archived an author's story though, I continue to archive their work (see submitting guidelines: http://psa.shadow-wrapped.net/submit_ff.html)
  • Are you prompt about removing fics at an author's request?
    Yes, I do it asap.
  • What is your plagiarism policy...do you investigate or do you take a complainant at their word?
I haven't had any plagarism problems thus far.
  • Do you update at least once a month?
Yes. I try to update every two weeks, but it depends on my free time
  • Do you make it possible for readers to leave feedback?
Yes, there is an email link at the end of every story.
  • Is your location stable, or do you move frequently?
Stable, though there are sometimes bandwidth problems.

    Yes.
  • Is the site easy to navigate? (can you get to all the main sections from every page, or do they rely on the 'back' button an awful lot?)
    Yes.

Somewhat selective (see here - http://www.psa.shadow-wrapped.net/submit_ff.html)

They do Potters, mainly James and Harry with anyone.

    Very.

Yeah, you can search by by pairing, complete author listing, or most recent additions. Also they have recs - # recommended story, a good read and ## highly recommended.
  • Are the indexes (author, title listings) clearly laid out?
    Yes.
  • Are stories appropriately labelled if they require warnings?
    They are all rated.
  • How many pages do you have to search through to get to the first story?
5th page is the story. You have the header page, the warning page, the update page, the pick which way you want to search page, and then the story.
  • Is it easy to leave feedback?
Yes, after you read the story you can email the author.
